PubWorX is seeking a highly organized and data-driven Marketing Manager to strategize, manage and oversee deployment of email marketing campaigns for publishing clients aimed at driving customer acquisition. This is an exciting opportunity to influence ongoing email efforts across leading magazine brands as well as drive audience growth. He/she will work with a talented team of digital marketers to generate subscription revenue for clients that include both Conde Nast and Hearst Magazines.  The position will report to the Director of Email Marketing and have one direct report, an Associate Email Marketing Manager.



  • Initiate and develop testing to optimize email engagement across a multitude of brands and audience segments inclusive of deliverability, targeting, subject lines, template design, creative, offers and landing page design to drive conversions.
  • Manage the clients’ email contact strategy including the planning, implementation and tracking to ensure communications are delivered to targeted audiences.
  • Optimize and oversee a $1MM lead generation programs to increase clients email universe.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to ensure alignment on email plans, adapting fluidly as needed.
  • Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams including digital operations, email service providers, creative services to ensure seamless execution of all email marketing efforts.
  • Leverage third party tools and services to enhance email marketing performance with AI, Personalization and other innovative technologies.
  • Evaluate and interpret email campaign reports to assess ROI of campaigns, actively suggesting optimizations through segmentation, messaging and creative design.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly performance updates for client meetings, including analyzing overall results/trends as well as summarizing testing results and potential next steps.
  • Work with Director to develop and enhance email marketing strategy, identifying opportunities to meet and or exceed budgets.



The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of email marketing experience preferred, ideally in an acquisition or ecommerce marketing role. In addition, he/she should possess the following skills:


  • BA/BS from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience managing end-to-end email marketing plans including audience segmentation, multivariant testing and creative development.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, pivoting quickly across cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable interpreting and communicating email KPI performance metrics to clients.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CAN-SPAM regulations, email deliverability and best practices.
  • Experience with CheetahMail and/or other ESP’s desired but not required.
  • Strong in MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
