Cary Zel

Executive Vice President

Cary founded ProCirc in 1993 running the North American circulation for two small European titles. In the subsequent years, ProCirc grew to become the industry’s most innovative full-service circulation outsourcing company offering strategic, promotional, analytical, and operational support to publishers of all sizes. In March 2017, ProCirc was purchased by PubWorX, consolidating the market share and talent pool of the two successful entities.

Cary works on the Pubworx ProCirc consumer marketing management team overseeing a diverse circulation base including both consumer and business, paid and controlled, large and small, and magazines serviced on several different fulfillment systems and handled by all of the major national distributors. In addition, Cary is responsible for managing key client magazine publisher relationships.

Earlier in his career, Cary held senior circulation positions at Time Inc., Scientific American, and Art & Antiques magazine. Cary is a frequent speaker at industry events and served on Client Advisory Boards for industry leading vendors CDS, PCD and Kable. Cary was awarded the FMA’s Fulfillment Manager of the Year in 2008.

Jim Murphy

SVP Marketing Operations

Jim Murphy oversees PubWorx Marketing Technology, Analytics, and Operations function which includes oversight of clients’ marketing databases, analytics and reporting, multi-channel marketing execution (outbound email, direct mail, social, display), and inbound e-commerce storefronts. Jim has over 20 years of experience in marketing technology having previously worked for Hearst Magazines, TV Guide, and MicroStrategy before joining PubWorx. Jim received his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and his masters from Columbia University.

Gina Simmons

SVP Consumer Marketing

Gina is a consumer marketing veteran with 30 years of experience. Gina is responsible for all marketing functions for PubWorX; including Acquisition, Retention, Digital, Planning and Circulation Finance. Previously, Gina was Vice President, Consumer Marketing for Conde Nast with brand responsibility for Vanity Fair, Architectural Digest, Bon Appétit, Conde Nast Traveler and Brides. Her prior experience includes Disney Publishing Worldwide, Time Inc. and K-III Media.

Ilene Cohen

Senior Vice President, Operations

A 30+ year Consumer Marketer responsible for magazine circulation strategy and execution tactics working on large consumer magazine portfolios. Ilene spent over 24 years at Conde Nast Publications eventually leading the team as Vice President of Consumer Marketing responsible for brands such as Vogue, The New Yorker and Gourmet. Additional key responsibilities included managing and articulating the consumer marketing strategy on 5 major magazine launches at Conde Nast. Prior to this, her circulation career began at Time Inc. working on multi-title college marketing initiatives on all of the brands. Most recently, Ilene held the position of COO of ProCirc for 7 years prior to its sale to PubWorX.

Holly Panfilio

Vice President Operations

Holly joined ProCirc in 2009 after serving as Fulfillment Director for Newsweek, BusinessWeek, and Primedia. Holly started her career in magazine fulfillment on the supplier side with a ten-year stint at Time Customer Service in Tampa.

Will Michalopoulos

VP Retail Sales & Marketing

Will has responsibility for strategic marketing, distribution activities, analytics, budgeting, and reporting and analysis across the retail channel. Prior to the formation of PubWorx, Will held the position of Senior Director, Retail Sales at Hearst Magazines responsible for sales and marketing for all Hearst consumer magazines. Will has also served as Vice President, Retail Sales and Marketing at Hachette Filipacchi Media (HFM) and has held positions at Ziff Davis Media, BusinessWeek, Consumer Reports and began his career at ARA Services – Magazine & Book Division.

John Reese

Executive Director Consumer Marketing

With over 25 years of publishing experience working for major publishers Time Inc, Wenner Media and Bonnier Corp, John brings extensive experience in management, strategy, direct marketing and forecasting/budgeting. John directly oversaw the consumer marketing efforts for such premier brands as Time Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Us Weekly and Rolling Stone and managed the consumer marketing department for Bonnier Corp’s portfolio of 27 enthusiast titles. Earlier positions include management of most direct to publisher sources including direct mail, online, inserts, DRTV and retention.

Samantha Lee

Executive Director, Digital Marketing

Sam has more than 10 years of online marketing experience. She has led digital audience development and acquisition strategy for Condé Nast, Time Inc. (now Meredith Corporation), and Ann Taylor brands.

Kristi Bassett

Planning Director

With expertise in Operations, Planning, Recruitment and Fulfillment, Kristi is a goal-driven professional with 30 years of experience in the publishing industry. In her previous role as VP, Operations and Human Resources, she provided HR support for DJG Marketing, ProCirc and WRSS, while managing daily operations on the WRSS database. Originally from Des Moines, Kristi started her career as an Account Executive at CDS before moving into operational and planning roles at PCD, TV Guide, Texas Monthly, and G+J.

Brendan Callaghan

Director of Information Services

Brendan moved to ProCirc after a long career at Reader’s Digest where he handled functions as diverse as planning and modeling, gift promotions, continuity book marketing, programming, and customer service. Immediately before relocating to Miami, he ran his own consulting firm providing marketing analytics for Reader’s Digest, Guideposts, HSN, Consumer Reports, and among others.

Lynda Chiarella

Consumer Marketing Director

A creative and strategic consumer marketing professional with 20+ years’ experience in designing, developing and implementing integrated marketing plans using traditional and digital media with a solid track record of success. She has significant experience generating well-targeted marketing solutions that produce profit and sustainable growth by utilizing both creativity and analytics. Previously, Lynda served as Marketing Director for Bonnier Corp. where she oversaw all consumer acquisition and retention through direct mail, inserts, cross-sell promotion, email and onsite marketing for 20+ magazines. Her prior experience includes The Wall Street Journal and Time Inc.

Tony DiBisceglie

VP Retail Sales and Marketing

Tony joined ProCirc Retail Solutions Group following a long career at Curtis Circulation Company where he served as Vice President, Business Development, a role encompassing new business acquisitions and development as well as oversight of the client services team’s implementation of sales, product development and marketing strategies. Prior to that, Tony served in other executive positions at Curtis including, Group Director, Publisher Sales and Development, in addition to account and sales management roles. Tony has extensive experience and knowledge in all areas of magazine newsstand sales and distribution.

Dan Dynan

Senior Consumer Marketing Director

A progressive industry executive with over 30 years experience directing Marketing, Finance and General Operations, Dan’s responsibilities include the overall planning, budgeting and execution of all customer acquisition and retention marketing efforts for 40+ consumer titles. Previously, Dan was Executive Director of Finance & Operations of Conde Nast’s Consumer Marketing Division; range of responsibilities included the creation of strategic business and marketing plans for all CN’s startups and acquisitions. Prior experience includes Marketing Director positions at Times Mirror Magazines and Time Inc.

Rosaline Fernandes

Executive Director, Acquisition.

An accomplished marketing executive, Rosaline’s areas of responsibilities include planning, budgeting and execution of strategic multi-channel customer acquisition campaigns. Previously, Rosaline served as Associate Consumer Marketing Director, New Business for Conde Nast where she oversaw consumer acquisition through direct mail, inserts, cross-sell promotions, email and retargeting for over 15 magazines and products. Her prior experience includes Forbes, R.L. Polk/Newsletter Division and New York Law Publishing Company.

Amy Fisher

Consumer Marketing Director

Amy is a dynamic marketing leader with over 20 years of demonstrated experience in strategic marketing partnerships, account management, business development and operations, and direct marketing. Previously, Amy was the Executive Director of Agency Marketing at the former Time Inc, managing the largest source of business on all 22 brands, including People, Sports Illustrated and Time. Other experience includes Wenner Media, managing all partners for both print and digital as well as the operational, logistical and marketing details for titles in ownership transition.

Ladell Fuqua

Executive Director, Digital Operations

Ladell Fuqua leads the Digital Strategic Solutions Group with specific focus in client relations, vendor management, marketing technology, operations, workflow & process management. He has over 20 years of experience in the digital marketing vertical working across the media industry. In that time he has built successful operations teams, designed and launched e-commerce solutions, managed marketing programs and lead efficiency programs. Ladell joined PubWorX at its inception in 2016 and previously worked at Conde Nast, TheStreet.com & AOL.

Kim Hasselbach

Director of Print Buying

Kim joined the ProCirc Miami team with over 15 years of experience in Marketing and Advertising, specializing in Print Production. Most recently, Kim was the Director of Marketing for FanVision, managing co-branded marketing campaigns with the NFL, NASCAR, Formula 1 and PGA. Originally from Minnesota, Kim has worked in Marketing for Select Comfort and U.S. Bank, as well as spending 7 years in Denver with Jackson National Life, and Heinrich Marketing Agency, working on Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Wells Fargo accounts. Kim has a BS in International Business from Southwest State University in MN, and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Colorado.

Scott Hill

Retail Sales and Marketing

Prior to joining PubWorx ProCirc, Scott was the Vice President of Retail Sales for Hanley Wood LC, where he was responsible for their consumer magazine and book circulation. He also served as Director of Single Copy Sales for Primedia’s Consumer Magazine Group and for McMullen Argus Publishing. Scott started his publishing career at Reader’s Digest.

Joe Jasontek

Executive Director, Planning.

Joe has 30+ years’ experience in the Publishing industry. Joe is responsible for overseeing Planning, Reporting and Compliance. Joe has substantial experience in all aspects of print order management, AAM, P&L, budgets, direct mail and agency business. In addition, he has extensive experience working with CDS Fulfillment Services and working with their Circulation model. Prior to joining PubWorx, Joe spent 12 years at Conde Nast working on planning and circulation finance for major brands. He has held positions at Meredith, TV Guide, Ziff-Davis and Hachette.

Andrew Kirshenbaum

Executive Director, Reporting & Analytics

Andrew Kirshenbaum leads PubWorx Reporting and Analytics functions with an emphasis on driving revenue optimization and marketing efficiency through advanced predictive modeling, business intelligence, lifetime value forecasting and ROI assessment. Andrew has over 20 years of marketing analytics experience in customer retention and acquisition having worked for Hearst Magazines, Columbia House/BMG and Hertz Corporation.

Madeline Krakowsky

Senior Consumer Marketing Director

Madeline joined ProCirc from Prometheus Global Media (Guggenheim Digital Media) where she was Vice President, Circulation, leading audience development for print and digital editions of The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard and Adweek. She developed the audience marketing and engagement plans for the launch of several iPad apps and optimized subscription acquisition via branded websites. Madeline has developed innovative marketing strategies and initiated quality customer service programs for leading consumer, general business, technology and B2B publications, and has directed marketing for books, newsletters, conferences, online services and product launches. A leader on senior publishing teams, Madeline has experience in strategic positioning for both paid and controlled titles. She has held various positions at AOL Time Warner, CMP Media, The New York Times Company, Thompson Financial Information; consulted for Hearst Magazines and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia; and founded a local guide book, What To Do: Armonk, Bedford & Chappaqua.

Margaret Maio

Executive Director, Retention.

A subscription retention leader with over 15 years of experience creating the consumer marketing retention strategy for global media brands. Margaret’s areas of responsibility include the overall marketing strategy & management of retention programs across online and offline marketing channels with a focus on developing innovative consumer offerings that increase brand preference, customer loyalty, and reduce churn. Previously, Margaret led the consumer marketing retention strategy and marketing at Conde Nast for all 15 of their brands including The New Yorker and Vanity Fair. Her prior experience includes Forbes and Springer Nature.

Robin Michaels

Executive Director, Consumer Marketing

A dedicated and passionate marketing leader, Robin oversees marketing strategy and develops and executes multi-channel acquisition and retention tactics to deliver on client’s sales and revenue goals. Previously, Robin served as Executive Director, Consumer Marketing at Rodale, where she led the consumer brand strategy for Women’s Health magazine and product, and supervised the marketing team across all brands to maximize audience and results for both print and digital channels. Prior to Rodale, she worked at Bonnier Corporation, drove marketing initiatives for The Parenting Group, and managed acquisition for numerous key brands at Conde Nast.

Jim Motrinec

Senior Consumer Marketing Director

Jim joined ProCirc from Outside magazine, where as Consumer Marketing Director he directed all circulation marketing, management, budgetary, and operational activities. Prior to Outside, Jim served in several key circulation positions at Emmis Publishing including Subscription Director and Circulation Manager for Texas Monthly, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis Monthly.

Sally Murphy

Executive Director, Consumer Marketing

Sally joined ProCirc from Conde Nast where she was Consumer Marketing Director for 15 years. An experienced and innovative marketer, she is an expert at optimizing all consumer and constituent-facing channels (print, e-mail, events, broadcast, web and retail) to target an intended audience and compel them to take action. In addition to leading the consumer marketing strategy on a range of titles, Sally also directed cause marketing – nurturing partnership programs to generate subscriptions and awareness for nonprofit partners. She excels at interpreting key data points to identify opportunities for bottom line improvement. Sally enjoys a collaborative approach, building teams focused on creating profitable businesses while remaining true to the brands.

Tom Pesik

Associate Consumer Marketing Director

Tom has over 20 years of experience successfully driving audience development and revenue for national and international titles including, Latin Trade, Vibe, Interview, Rolling Stone, Foreign Policy, London Review of Books. His expertise includes B2B Marketing, direct mail, telemarketing, broadcast & online promotions, leveraging best practices and providing new solutions.

Kolin Rankin

Consumer Marketing Director

Kolin originally joined ProCirc in 2003 initially working on the Vanguarde Media accounts, and then transitioning to the Lifestyle Media titles as an account manager. He then served as the Circulation Director at Research to Practice where he was responsible for all facets of their medical journal circulation and customer service. On his return to ProCirc, he took over the responsibility of the management of thousands of print orders and is functioning as a Consumer Marketing Director on multi publisher accounts.

Kevin Regan

Consumer Marketing Director

A highly accomplished marketing and finance executive, Kevin’s areas of responsibility include, planning, budgeting and the execution of strategic multi-channel audience acquisition and retention campaigns. Previously, Kevin has held fulfillment, finance, and consumer marketing director level positions at Time Inc., American Express Publishing, Success Magazine, UBM, EMAP, Forbes, and Hearst.

Andrew Schulman

Consumer Marketing Director

An accomplished subscription marketer with over 18 years of experience implementing the consumer marketing strategy for large publishers. Andrew’s areas of responsibilities include the planning, budgeting and execution of strategic multi-channel customer acquisition campaigns, specializing in direct mail plus overseeing the marketing strategy and management of retention efforts, focusing on auto renewal programs. Previously, Andrew served as the Consumer Marketing Director for Bonnier, managing consumer acquisition through direct mail, inserts, cross-sell promotions, email, retention, gift and digital for 9 brands. His prior experience includes Playboy, Inter-Media Outdoors and Wenner Media, where he worked on the launch of Us Weekly.

Mike Tolen

Consumer Marketing Director

Mike is a direct response marketing specialist with 20 years of experience in consumer marketing acquisition and retention for national media brands. His areas of responsibility include the overall marketing strategy, rate base management, customer retention, and structuring inventive offerings to upsell consumers to higher tier bundles. His prior experience includes Rodale and OK! Magazine.

Marlene Tuchman

Planning Director

Marlene joined ProCirc after 10 years as an Independent Publishing Consultant. Primarily focusing on circulation planning and finance, she built a large and diverse practice and is knowledgeable in all major circulation planning software packages. Her past experience includes positions as Planning Director and Circulation Business Manager at a variety of publishers. For 6 years, she was Associate Director, Circulation Consulting at CDS where she supported the CDS Circulation model. She spent her entire career in publishing, first in accounting, then in corporate planning before moving into Circulation.

Barbara Venturelli

Consumer Marketing Director

Barbara has over 20 years of experience in the publishing industry with a focus on consumer marketing and financial strategy. With a career managing both large, household name brand magazines as well as smaller titles, she’s got expertise in strategic planning initiatives, has directly managed both new business acquisition and customer retention channels and is a highly skilled analyst and problem solver. Holding prior positions at American Express Publishing, Time Inc., and Meredith, she’s had responsibility for revenue projections and budgeting of consumer marketing activities contributing $500M+ in revenue annually, managed customer loyalty/engagement and consumer research programs and is a strong collaborator on all projects representing consumer initiatives.

Matthew Warner

Digital Marketing Director

With 15+ years of experience, Matthew is results-driven digital leader specializing in email marketing, paid/social media and customer journey development. He joined ProCirc in 2014 prior to its sale to PubWorX, after serving 8 years as Marketing Director at The Leeb Group – a digital investment advisory publisher and asset management firm. He led all digital audience development, acquisition and retention efforts growing the multi-tiered product lines and investment products. Previously, he managed subscriber acquisition and retention at Time Out North America, working on Time Out New York and the launch of Time Out New York Kids. Prior marketing and audience development roles include Haymarket Media and BPA Worldwide where he began his career in database auditing operations.
